Do you know what COLORS you are planning on producing the Cup?
We’re currently considering a purple color and a darker shade of jade green-blue, similar to what you see in the campaign here.
As for adding more colors, we’re excited about the possibility of introducing additional options through stretch goals, depending on how the campaign progresses. Each new color involves associated costs such as food safety certification and meeting minimum order quantities for production. Hence, the expansion of our color range is directly linked to how much we raise here.
Then similar to what we did in our previous campaign, we plan to send out a survey where backers can vote for their favorite colors. This helps us gauge interest and make decisions that reflect the desires of the community here.
Regarding the black color –> we’ve decided against offering it primarily because black plastics pose challenges in recycling processes. Recycling facilities often have difficulty detecting black plastics, which can complicate the recycling process when the time comes.

Are the ACCESSORIES included or have to be paid separately as an Add-On?
The main set includes the Origami Cup and a Lid. This is indicated as item description “Cup+Lid” in the rewards section and the additional photo shows the cup with the lid only.
Why do we do it this way? –> We conducted a pre-campaign survey sent to our community, and many expressed a preference for the flexibility to select only the accessories they need. This approach helps prevent unnecessary waste for people having accessories they don’t need and allows us to keep the cost of the main set more affordable.

Will it keep my drink hot / cold like a thermo cup?
The Origami Cup is not designed as a thermal cup. For a product to have true thermal properties, it typically requires a double-walled, preferably stainless steel construction, which isn’t feasible with our design goals for a foldable, compact, and easy-to-carry cup.
However, the cup does come with a lid that helps to some extent in maintaining drink’s temperature—hot or cold—for some time. However, the temperature would still escape through the body of the cup, so how long your drink stays hot or cold will depend on the external environment and how long is needed it to last.

Does the cup fit into CAR CUP HOLDERS ?
When designing the Origami Cup, we’ve considered car cup holders as requirement but unfortunately, there is not a single standard size for this and every car manufacturer is different. The diameter in the bottom is ~ 7cm (2.8 inches), so it’s better to check whether it fits with your car’s cupholder.

Do you SHIP to Singapore/ India/ XX? And how much would it cost?
We plan to ship to various countries. Due to the volatility of international shipping costs and their dependence on the exact quantities of pledges, it is challenging to provide precise estimates six months prior to shipping. Therefore, we will charge for shipping just before we are ready to ship the cups in March 2025. • We have provided initial shipping estimates for major destinations like the US, EU, UK, and CA. • After the campaign, once we have a clear timeframe for shipping, we will obtain detailed quotations for all destinations based on the final quantities pledged. This process will help us secure the best possible rates. • Clear and precise shipping information, including the final amount you will be charged, will be communicated via a post-campaign survey.

Are the sleeve and straw necessary for hot and cold drinks?
• The straw is optional, perfect for drinks where you’d prefer to use one. It folds neatly into the lid for storage.
•The sleeve is recommended for very hot liquids, as it protects your hands when the cup’s surface heats up with temperatures like boiling water. For less hot beverages, such as a barista standard latte (~65-70°C/ 150-160°F), the cup feels comfortably warm without it, though this can vary based on personal heat tolerance. The sleeve also enhances grip for cold drinks with condensation but isn’t strictly necessary.

How HOT does the outside of the cup get with hot beverages like coffee or tea?
The cup’s temperature will vary based on the heat of the beverage. For boiling water (like for tea), the cup can get quite hot. For coffee at typical temperatures (around 150-160°F or 65-70°C), it is comfortable to hold even without a protective sleeve.
Consider adding our Protective Sleeve as Add-On for extra protection if desired.

Does the cup contain any METAL parts?
The cup itself contains no metal parts and is microwave-safe. This means that you can safely carry it through metal detectors at concerts and sporting events. The only metal component is the optional carabiner, which is separate from the cup, lid, sleeve, and straw.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
